ICAS Past Papers: Where to Find Them

Past papers and official practice materials are among the most useful ways to prepare for ICAS — they show the real question style, the on-screen format, and the level of difficulty. Here's where to find genuine material and how to make it count.

Where to find official ICAS material

ICAS Assessments (the organisation that runs ICAS, formerly UNSW Global) is the authoritative source. Through its official channels you can typically find:

• Past papers and practice tests for each subject and year level, available to purchase from the official ICAS shop.
• Free sample questions that show the format and question style for familiarisation.

Start at the official ICAS Assessments website. Be wary of unofficial "ICAS past papers" circulating online — they may be incomplete, mis-transcribed, or from an older format, and the official versions come with reliable answers.

Why they're a limited resource

There's only so much official material, and once a question has been seen it loses its value as fresh practice. A keen student works through the available papers quickly — so treat past papers as a scarce resource for realistic rehearsal rather than everyday training.

How to use a past paper well

• Save your best paper for later. Build skills first, then use a full paper as a realistic timed run closer to the ICAS window.
• Do it on screen, under time. ICAS is online and timed, so practising that way builds the right habits.
• Review by topic, not just score. Sort misses into number, fractions, measurement, data — that shows where to focus.

What to do between past papers

Because official papers are limited, day-to-day preparation needs a larger supply of ICAS-style questions with full explanations, so your child keeps improving after the few official papers are done.
