Which exams does PrepPath cover?

PrepPath covers NAPLAN (Years 3, 5, 7 and 9), the Opportunity Class (OC) test for Year 4, and the Selective High School test for Year 6. It also has practice for the AMC (Australian Mathematics Competition), ICAS Maths and English mock papers, and HAST-style practice. We add new exams and content regularly.

Which subjects and year levels are available?

Depending on the exam, PrepPath covers Reading comprehension, Numeracy and Mathematics, Language Conventions, Mathematical Reasoning, Thinking Skills, and Writing. Year levels span Year 3 up to Year 9, including OC (Year 4) and Selective (Year 6). Reading now includes full passage-sets across genres — narrative, persuasive, drama, informative, procedural and recount.

Where do the practice questions come from?

Every question is drawn from our curated question bank or generated instantly by our algorithm, and each one comes with a full worked explanation. Questions are checked so that exactly one answer is correct, and the bank is continually reviewed for accuracy. If you ever want more help understanding a question, the built-in AI Tutor can explain it in as much detail as you like.

Can I get my child's writing marked?

Yes. PrepPath gives detailed, criteria-based feedback on practice essays for NAPLAN, OC, Selective and other writing tasks. The free plan includes a limited number of essay markings each period; Premium removes the limit.

What does the timer do?

Timed mode mirrors real exam pacing, giving you a set amount of time per question. When time runs out, the session ends automatically and you go straight to your results, so practice feels like the real thing.

Is PrepPath free, and what does Premium add?

You can try PrepPath without an account — around 10 practice questions to get started. Creating a free account gives you 20 questions per day across all subjects and year levels, with full answer explanations. Premium (with a 7-day free trial) removes the daily limit and adds the AI Tutor, full progress history, a NAPLAN Readiness Score, and downloadable session reports. What do I get by creating an account?

Signing in lets PrepPath remember which questions you've already mastered and rotate in fresh ones, and it keeps the questions you got wrong in the pool until you master them. Premium additionally saves your full progress history, your NAPLAN Readiness Score, and downloadable reports.

A question or its answer looks wrong — what should I do?

Some questions accept more than one format (for example '12 pm' and '12:00 pm' are both accepted). If you believe a question, answer or explanation is genuinely wrong, please use the 'Report a problem' option shown with each question, or email us — including the question — and we'll review and fix it quickly.

How do I reset my password?

On the login page, use the 'Forgot password?' link to reset your password via email.
